The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has taken swift action by banning Nsoatreman FC from using the Nana Koramansah Park as their home venue.
This decision comes in the wake of the violent incidents that broke out during their Ghana Premier League Matchday 19 match against Asante Kotoko. Although Nsoatreman won 1-0, the match was tainted by chaos, injuries, and the tragic loss of life.
To ensure the safety of all parties involved while investigations are conducted, the GFA has responded by invoking Article 14(2) of the Premier League Regulations and imposing an indefinite ban on Nsoatreman’s home venue.
The GFA has tasked its Security Committee, under the direction of DCOP Lydia Donkor, and FA Prosecutors with obtaining all required proof, such as match reports and pertinent records, to present to the Disciplinary Committee.
In order to identify, apprehend, and prosecute all of the perpetrators of the violence, the Ghana Police Service has also been asked to carry out a thorough investigation into the incident.
The GFA reaffirmed its zero-tolerance policy for violence, intimidation, and hooliganism in Ghana football, warning that severe sanctions will be imposed on any club, official, or supporter found culpable.
Further updates on the investigation and disciplinary actions will be communicated in due course.
