Nsoatreman FC has been dissolved, according to the club’s Communications Director, Gyempeh Kofi Joel.

In a statement released on Friday, March 14, the former FA Cup champions announced their withdrawal from the ongoing 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season due to safety concerns.

The decision comes after the team narrowly escaped an attack by unidentified assailants while travelling for their Matchday 24 fixture against FC Samartex last Monday.

Speaking in an interview with Sporty FM, Kofi Joel confirmed that the club’s leadership opted to dissolve the team, citing the inability to guarantee the safety of players and staff.

“Nsoatreman FC has been dissolved,” he said. “Players have been asked to go home,” he added.

The club has been embroiled in controversy following the tragic stabbing of Asante Kotoko fan Francis Frimpong, also known as Nana Pooley. The incident led to a ban on their home ground, Nana Kronmansah Park, preventing it from hosting any further matches.

As of now, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has yet to respond to Nsoatreman FC’s decision. The team also failed to show up for their Matchday 25 clash against Basake Holy Stars on Sunday.
