Central Kumasi goes silent for late Akyempimhene

Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has attended a memorial mass marking the one-week funeral observation for the late Akyempimhene, Oheneba Adusei Poku, at the St. Cyprian Anglican Cathedral in Kumasi on Thursday, August 22, 2024.

The Akyempimhene was the first son of the 15th Asantehene, the late Otumfuo Opoku Ware II.

Central Kumasi silent
Parts of the Central Business District (CBD) of Kumasi has gone silent for the funeral observation.
Adum and adjoining areas, which are traditionally busy communities, have been quiet on the day as shops are closed and all business activities grounded.

Oheneba Adusei Poku was a trained lawyer.
