Mr. Alex Apau Dadey, Executive Chairman of KGL Group, achieved a remarkable double victory at the 9th Ghana CEO Excellence Awards held in Accra on Monday.

He was honoured as the CEO of the Year for the Group Business Sector (Private Sector) for the third consecutive time and also received the award for CEO of the Year in the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Technology Sector.

As he accepted his awards from President John Dramani Mahama, Mr. Dadey was met with thunderous applause from the audience.

The awards ceremony was themed “Leading Ghana’s Economic Reset: Transforming Business and Governance for a Sustainable Futuristic Economy.”

Exceptional leader
Mr. Dadey’s dual recognition highlights his exceptional leadership in Ghana’s private sector, as well as his steadfast commitment to responsible corporate stewardship and ethical business practices. Under his guidance, KGL Technology, a subsidiary of KGL Group, has led digital transformation in ICT, gaming, and telecommunications—culminating in the company’s top ranking in ICT at the Ghana Club 100 Awards.

Appreciation
In his acceptance speech, Mr. Dadey expressed deep gratitude for the recognition, emphasizing that the honour was not solely for him. “I am profoundly humbled by this acknowledgment. This recognition is a reflection of the extraordinary commitment of the entire KGL Group team. I also extend my heartfelt thanks to our partners and stakeholders, whose trust and collaboration have been instrumental in our journey.

“Together, we have demonstrated that purpose-driven innovation can unlock tremendous value—not just for business, but also for communities and our country at large.”

Thanks President
He further thanked President Mahama for promoting a collaborative national dialogue with the private sector. “This vision reflects true leadership. By recognizing the private sector not merely as economic actors but as genuine engines of progress, this administration has created a fertile ground for innovation and shared prosperity. We are stronger when government and industry are aligned toward the shared goal of building a resilient, inclusive, and future-ready Ghana,” he stated.

Homegrown solutions
Mr. Dadey emphasized the significance of homegrown, inclusive solutions to Africa’s developmental challenges. He cited KGL Group’s innovative approach to Public-Private Partnerships as an exemplary model of how Ghana’s economy can evolve positively.
