The Paramount Chief of the Oguaa Traditional Area, Osabarima Kwesi Atta II has presented a flag symbolically depicting the supremacy of the Asante Kingdom, to the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

A delegation sent by the Oguaamanhene was at the Manhyia Palace to present the flag to the King and also to thank him for his august visit to Caape Coast to participate in 60th anniversary of Ogua Fetu Afahye and the 25th anniversary of the omanhene.

The queenmother of the Traditional Area, Nana Ekua Abookye VI, led the delegation, which also included the Sanaahene Nana Kweku Yensu and the Chairperson of the Anniversary Planning Committee, Charlotte Osei.

The flag
The flag, with a black background and stripes of yellow, black, and white from the Asanteman flag, features giant embroideries of the porcupine which is the emblem of the Asante Kingdom, a tiger and an eagle.

The eagle in the flag has gripped the tiger while the Porcupine walked untouched or unharmed. It was explained that the eagle possesses the power to defeat a tiger but can’t get close to the Porcupine.
