Ghanaian actress Jackie Appiah has been honored with the prestigious “Les Stars à l’Honneur” award at the Celebrities Days event of the Panafrican Film and Television Festival of Ouagadougou (FESPACO) in Burkina Faso.

Sharing the news on social media, the multiple award-winning thespian expressed her gratitude, calling it an “incredible recognition” of her journey in African cinema. She further dedicated the award to all storytellers, dreamers, and creators working to elevate African film.

FESPACO, the continent’s largest and most prestigious film festival, is held biennially in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. The 29th edition, running from February 22 to March 1, 2025, continues its tradition of celebrating and promoting films exclusively produced by African filmmakers.
