The University of Ghana campus came to a halt on November 12, 2024, as the GenZ for Bawumia/Napo group stormed various hostels and halls to talk to students about the need to support Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the upcoming elections.

The group, inspired by the NPP’s achievements and the plans presented by Dr. Bawumia, the Presidential Candidate, focusing on digitalization and economic empowerment for the youth.

The GenZ for Bawumia/Napo team aims to connect with every young Ghanaian, especially those in universities, by sharing NPP policies through a door-to-door campaign and having personal discussions with students about the importance of voting for the NPP.

On that day, they stopped at Volta, Liman, and Kwapong Halls, continuing their efforts from previous campus Campus Activation Project where they shared Dr. Bawumia’s policy initiatives and the NPP’s vision.

Their mission was clear: to engage students and advocate for the party’s manifesto, which includes ambitious commitments such as the creation of one million digital jobs for Ghanaians, the establishment of a Fintech Fund to nurture startups, and the formation of a dedicated SME Bank to bolster small and medium enterprises.

These initiatives are designed to empower the youth and stimulate economic growth, aligning with the aspirations of a generation eager for innovation and opportunity.

In collaboration with the executives of Legon Tescom, the GenZ group worked diligently to disseminate information about the NPP’s initiatives and programmes specifically crafted for young people, particularly those pursuing higher education.

This partnership underscores the importance of grassroots engagement and the need to connect with students on a personal level.

The response from the student body was overwhelmingly positive, with enthusiastic chants of “Dr. Bawumia No. 1” resonating through the campus as the GenZ for Bawumia/Napo team made their presence felt.

The team distributed a variety of promotional materials, including T-shirts, pens, key holders, and informative leaflets that outlined the party’s policies and vision for the future. This hands-on approach not only fostered a sense of community but also reinforced the message of hope and progress that the NPP aims to convey.

The GenZ train has been set in motion and will hit every tertiary institution in your area before election, so watch out.
