Seychelles President Wavel Ramkalawan will be the guest of honour at a symposium at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi on Friday, November 22 to mark 100 years of the return of Asantehene Prempeh I from exile in the archipelago country.

Ghana’s High Commissioner to Seychelles, Francisca Ashietey-Odunton, announced this at an event in Victoria, the Seychelles capital, to commemorate the centenary of the return of Prempeh I, the Asante King who was exiled to the Seychelles by British colonial authorities over 100 years ago.

Prempeh I’s return to the Ashanti Kingdom in 1924 symbolizes a significant chapter in Ghana’s history, marking the resilience and enduring cultural heritage of the Ashanti people.
