The chief of Akyem Aduasa in the Eastern Region, Osabarima Nana Abrokwa Gyanpem IV has promised to support Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) with 99.9% of the votes in his area in the December 7 general elections.

Addressing a mammoth rally at Akyem Swedru constituency in the Eastern Region yesterday August 20, 2024, Osabarima Gyanpem called on the constituents to vote for the NPP and Dr Bawumia.

While praising the Vice President for his outstanding work as Veep, the chief also extended gratitude to the Member of Parliament, Kennedy Osei Nyarko, for spearheading numerous development initiatives during the NPP administration. “Akyem Swedru is the mini-world Bank of the NPP. We’re all aware. In this 2024 elections, we’re not giving you 70 nor 80%, we will give 99.9% of votes”, he stated.

Osabarima also applauded the Veep for his decision to review article 66 of the 1992 constitution to give more power to the chiefs.

Benefits
Dr Bawumia indicated that the revision of article 66 will allow the chiefs to handle domestic issues and pass their judgment.
