NPP presidential candidate, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has promised a major boost for the tourism and creative arts industry if he becomes President. He said the industry is among the pillars that must be strengthened for the growth of the country.

He gave the assurance when he paid a working visit to the Trade Fair Centre, at La, in Accra, where a 20,000 capacity Trade Fair Convention Centre is being constructed to boost the tourism and creative arts industry.

The facility, when completed will be a multi-purpose centre and strengthen Ghana’s position as an attractive destination for conferences, conventions and exhibitions.

Benefits
Speaking during the visit on Monday, November 26, Dr Bawumia said the building of a centre of that magnitude, which is 10ntimes the nation’s current biggest facility for events, will immensely benefit the industry in many ways, including the ability to admit more people at lesser fees, for more profits.

He was impressed by the extent of work done, and the firm assurances by the contractors to complete it in eight months. He said he looks forward to commissioning the project in September, next year, by the grace of God.
